Latest announcement of Google that over 40 new domains added to Google Maps, 130 countries total in the areas of custom maps and the support of over 60 user interface languages.
Google Maps business product manager Jarda Bengl says that maps a domain is an entry point to our custom greeting tailored for a particular country, which makes searches for places and localities in the country more efficient.
This means that if you are in Sri Lanka, Venezuela and Cameroon, which now has a single domain for directions, local information and to find new favorite places,” Bengl says.
Google also announced the launch of a weather layer on Google Maps this week. Users can see the temperatures and latest conditions. It uses information from weather.com known as “The Weather Channel” and the US Naval Research Lab.
